Police investigate house fire – Wagga Wagga

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in Wagga Wagga.

About 5.40pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 September 2015), police and Fire & Rescue NSW officers were called to a home on Blakemore Street, Ashmont, after smoke was seen coming from premises.

Crews arrived a short time later to find the home well alight. No persons were home at the time and nobody was injured.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

A boy described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 15-years-old, wearing black tracksuit pants and a black hooded top was seen riding a pushbike in a southerly direction on Blakemore Street around the time of the fire.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact police
