Police are appealing for information after firearms were stolen during a break and enter near Lake Macquarie last week.

Between 7.30am and 1pm last Friday (17 July 2015), a break-in occurred at a home on Northview Street, Rathmines.

During the incident, a number of items were stolen, including three air rifles and a shotgun, which were stored in a locked firearms cabinet.

Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information which may assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
