Two charged over alleged aggravated break-in north of Morisset

Police have charged two men over an alleged aggravated break-in at a property at Dora Creek, north of Morisset overnight.

About 2.45am (Monday 8 June 2015), a cleaner was inside a licensed premises on Minnie Street when he heard people cutting through the metal roof sheeting.

The cleaner called Triple Zero (000) and officers attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended a short time later.

Upon arrival, police witnessed two men running along the roof of the premises.

The pair ran a short distance into backyards of nearby houses; before being located by police in the yard of a home on Coorumbung Road.

The men, aged 28 and 35, were arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station, where the younger man was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent in company, and face disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.

The older man was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent in company, face disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, and carry cutting weapon upon apprehension.

Both men were refused bail and are due to appear before Toronto Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 9 June 2015).
