Man charged after drugs, knife seized from car – Windale

A man is due in Newcastle Local Court today charged with drug and weapon offences.

Officers attached to the Lake Macquarie Special Operations Group stopped a Jeep on Lake Street, Windale, about 2pm yesterday (Thursday 4 June 2015), for a random breath test.

Police allege when the vehicle was searched, they found a flick knife, methamphetamine (Ice), liquid amphetamine and cannabis.

A 32-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and taken to Charlestown Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug (two counts), and custody of knife in public place.

The man was bail refused by police and will appear in the Newcastle Local Court later today (Friday 5 June 2015).
