THE WOLFE BROTHERS – LET’S HIT THE ROAD – AUSTRALIAN TOUR READY SET RIDE – TOUR ROLLING OUT NATIONALLY UNTIL JUNE 2018

They’re one of Australia’s favourite country rock bands and now The Wolfe Brothers have image001announced the first dates of what will be a year-long jaunt called Let’s Hit The Road – Australian Tour. Easily one of the hardest working bands on the circuit today, if they’re not touring, they’re writing and recording – in fact, they haven’t really stopped since they smashed onto the Australian scene back in 2012.

The band has recently been in Nashville writing songs for their next album. In fact, they only just arrived back in the country on the weekend and are already looking forward to a busy 12-months ahead recording their fourth album. “We will be doing a lot more of our own shows around the country,” says Tom. “We will also continue touring with Lee Kernaghan on his 25th anniversary tour, which has been such a huge success! We’re excited that it will now be extending into next year!”

The Nashville songwriting trip was a creative powerhouse. “The songwriting on this trip feels like we have stepped up another level,” says guitarist Brodie Rainbird. “We have spent so much time in Nashville over the last couple of years that it is our second home, and we feel very settled and relaxed there now. The past experience of writing the last album there has given us the confidence to approach these songwriting sessions with much more focus on what we want to achieve, in terms of a direction for the next album.”

Rightfully considered as one of the hottest live country bands in Australia, The Wolfe Brothers are renowned for their tight performances and affable approach. With the release of the first leg of their Let’s Hit The Road – Australian Tour for 2017, the second leg – slated for 2018 – will be announced in coming weeks. The band is looking forward to sharing some of their biggest hits – and new material – with fans on the road.

Lead singer Nick Wolfe says no night will be the same. “We are trying to evolve as a band,” he says. “We do not want to stay the same all the time, we want to grow and get better at what we do. Our goal is to achieve this on the new tour by giving the audience all the hit songs with some nostalgic covers but also share some new music with them before we release these songs on next album. It is always very satisfying to get the reaction of the hard-core fans to our new songs. We genuinely like to get them involved in the lead up to releasing a new album, and there is no better way to do that than to get the fan’s opinion of some new songs.”

The Wolfe Brothers most recent album This Crazy Life hit #2 on the ARIA country charts and has spawned three #1 singles, making it 10 singles in a row from the last 3 albums to hit the #1 spot on the country charts. The current radio release, a duet with Lee Kernaghan on his single Damn Good Mates, has also spawned airplay around the country.

The Wolfe Brothers Let’s Hit The Road – Australian Tour will roll-out around Australia until June 2018. The band’s as-yet-untitled new album will be released mid-2018.

LEE KERNAGHAN – BOYS FROM THE BUSH – 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

The year 2017 brings new music, a national tour and a brand-new album from 36-time Golden Guitar winner Lee Kernaghan. To celebrate the silver anniversary of his ARIA award winning debut album, Outback Club (1992), Lee is gearing up for what is set to be his biggest and most exciting tour ever.

The Boys From The Bush 25th Anniversary Tour will feature his classic hits, ballads and rural anthems that have won Lee a nationwide legion of fans that he prefers to call ‘mates’. With 34 number one hits to his credit, the show is set to be a major celebration of Kernaghan’s career and will also feature special performances from his brilliant new 25th Anniversary album, set for release in March.

The national tour will be launched on Australia Day at the Toyota Tamworth Country Music Festival with a star-studded show at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Convention Centre. The concert promises to be an historic Tamworth event with Lee Kernaghan fans travelling from near and far to be a part of what is set to be a massive milestone year for Lee.

The national tour dates continue in April and run through to November 2017. Lee will be joined by a stellar line-up of special guests throughout the tour [see venue dates for details] including the legendary James Blundell, hit maker Tania Kernaghan, Best New Artist Golden Guitar Winner (2016) Christie Lamb and CMC award-winning artists The Wolfe Brothers who will join Lee for the entire tour.

In addition to Lee’s anniversary tour dates, he is also scheduled to perform at some of the biggest country music events of the year. In March, he will share the CMC Rocks QLD stage with international superstars the Dixie Chicks. He will also headline at ‘the world’s most remote music concert’ the Big Red Bash near Birdsville in QLD in July, where he will perform to an estimated 7000-strong crowd. Joining Lee on stage will be special guests Troy Cassar-Daley, The McClymonts and James Blundell, in a unique and exclusive 25th anniversary event. Lee will also make a headline performance at the iconic Deni Ute Muster in September. In October Lee takes to the high seas with The McClymonts, John Williamson, Adam Harvey and a host of Australian music stars for Cruisin’ Country.

Lee Kernaghan’s Boys From The Bush 25th Anniversary Tour is set to be an unforgettable concert experience, so book your tickets early and join the celebration of the epic career of one of this country’s all-time greats.

Tickets to the Boys From the Bush – 25th Anniversary Tour go on sale from 9am on Monday 16th January 2017.

More tour dates will be announced at the end of February. Details about the new album will be released on Friday 20th January 2017. Album pre-sales will commence on Friday 20th January 2017.

ABOUT LEE KERNAGHAN

Lee Kernaghan reinvigorated Australian Country Music in the 1990’s, synthesising traditional country themes with his own brand of rural rock and images of an evolving regional culture. Songs like The Outback Club, Boys from The Bush, Hat Town, She’s My Ute and Australian Boy are now modern day anthems for a generation of Australians living and working on the land.

In 2015 Lee released the epic work Spirit of The Anzacs, based on a collection of letters and diary records from Australian servicemen and women, some dating back to the landings at Gallipoli. On its release the album struck a chord with the Australian people holding the #1 position on the Australian ARIA Album Chart for four consecutive weeks. It was the highest selling album by an Australian artist (all genres) for 2015. All proceeds from The Spirit of The Anzacs song and music video featuring music greats Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Shepherd, Shannon Noll, Jon Stevens and Megan Washington are donated in perpetuity to veteran support groups – Legacy Australia and Soldier On.

Lee has sold over two million albums in Australia with releases including Outback Club, Three Chain Road, 1959, Hat Town, Rules Of The Road, Electric Rodeo, New Bush, Ultimate Hits, Spirit Of The Bush, Planet Country, Beautiful Noise and Spirit Of The Anzacs all achieving platinum or multi-platinum status. Lee is a four-time ARIA award-winning artist and in 2015 he was presented with the Australian Record Industry Award for Outstanding Achievement.

Lee has achieved a staggering 34 #1 chart hit songs over his career and has been awarded 36 Golden Guitars. He has been named Hit Maker of the Decade, twice, in 2001 and 2011. This accolade is in recognition of Lee having more chart hits in Australia than any other country music artist in the world.

Kernaghan is long-time and passionate supporter of rural and regional Australia. His Pass the Hat Around Australia Tours, Spirit of The Bush and Farmhand concerts have raised millions of dollars for drought, flood and bushfire relief, hospitals, schools, ambulance and volunteer organisations nation-wide. In 2004 Kernaghan was the recipient of an Order of Australia Medal and was named 2008 Australian of the Year.

Lee Kernaghan’s Boys from The Bush 25th Anniversary Tour launches in Tamworth on Australia Day with concerts covering the length and breadth of the nation throughout 2017.

SHANNON NOLL AND THE WOLFE BROTHERS JOIN FORCES FOR MASSIVE TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL PARTY

Joining forces for a special Tamworth Country Music Festival bash, Shannon Noll will be hitting the stage with The Wolfe Brothers in their Boys will be Boys Australia Day Eve Party. This double header promises to be the party event of the festival and is the perfect lead-in to the Australia Day public holiday!

Shannon Noll is no stranger to regional Australia, a former farmhand from Condobolin in New South Wales, he burst into the Australian consciousness as the first runner-up on talent show Australian Idol in 2003. His rendition of the classic What About Me smashed onto the charts and since his appearance on the television show he has experienced certified platinum sales, #1 hits, five Top 10 albums, and is reputed as the only Australian male artist in national chart history to have achieved 10 consecutive Top 10 singles. He also has 17 platinum and three gold accreditations – an enviable achievement. Shannon has also been nominated for numerous ARIA awards and has taken home the Best Male Artist accolade in the MTV awards three years in succession. Shannon has recently signed with Warner Music and has a new album coming out next March.

The Wolfe Brothers are a force to be reckoned with. They won the hearts of the nation in 2012 when they were voted in second place of Australia’s Got Talent. Their story is a tried and true one of local lads make good, thanks to a hell of a lot of dedication. Their third long player This Crazy Life was released this year to much acclaim and the Tassie boys have recently returned from a four-month tour of the United States. They are easily one of the hardest working bands on the touring circuit today, and if they are not on the road with their own headline shows, they are performing with country legend Lee Kernaghan.

The band’s debut, It’s On was released in 2013 and spawned three Top 10 singles, including their first #1 for The Girl, The Bottle, The Memory. Their equally impressive sophomore album Nothin’ But Trouble – released in 2014 – entered the ARIA Country Charts at #2. With their new release This Crazy Life under their belts, The Wolfe Brothers were also awarded the Group of the Year accolade in the 2016 CMC Awards. Any live show in the company of these guys is a rockin’ one indeed.

For Tom Wolfe, the concert is the epitome of a great musical celebration. “It is an Australia Day Eve party, it doesn’t get much more Australian than Tamworth, Nollsie, and The Wolfe Brothers,” he says. “It will be a big party – it is guaranteed to be a good time.”

The band only forged a friendship with Shannon recently, but it was an effortless one. “We first became friends about 12-months ago,” says Tom. “He came to our farm in Tasmania, we wrote some songs and hung out for a few days. We had a great time, got along really well and realised we have a lot in common. We have wanted to do a show together for a long time so we are both really stoked.”

Don’t miss this special Australia Day Eve Party as The Wolfe Brothers and Shannon Noll get ready to rock Tamworth Country Music Festival! Tickets on sale now.

Police investigate fatal crash – Buchanan

Police are investigating a fatal crash between a truck and a motorcycle in the State’s Central Hunter last night.

About 11pm (Monday, 19 September 2016), emergency services were called to the Hunter Expressway, Buchanan, following reports of a crash.

Initial investigations suggest a Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling east on the Highway when the rider left the roadway, crashed into a fence and came to rest on the road.

A semi trailer, driven by a 39-year-old man, also travelling east, crashed into the motorcycle and rider.

The rider of the bike, a man believed to be aged in his 20s, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

No one else was injured during the incident.

A crime scene was established and investigations into the crash are continuing. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
