Renewed warning as search continues for man who escaped Riverina prison

Police have renewed warnings not to approach a man who escaped from a correctional centre near Albury last week.

Artur Wojik, 45, was last seen at the minimum-security correctional centre on Jingellic Road, Mannus, about 130km north of Albury, at 5.30pm Thursday (7 April 2016).

The prisoner was noticed missing at 7.30am the following day (Friday 8 April 2016), and a search was initiated.

Police from Albury Local Area Command have renewed their warnings for anyone who sees the man, NOT to approach him, instead to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Artur Wojik is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170-175cm tall, of a medium build, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo on his right bicep and was last seen wearing prison greens.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man matching this description to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the escapee could be interstate, especially Victoria or Queensland.

Police appeal for information about missing teenager – Singleton

Police from Hunter Valley Local Area Command are appealing for information to help locate a missing teenager.

Ashleigh McTaggart, aged 16, was last seen about 9pm last Friday (1 April 2016), leaving her home on Kelso Street, Singleton.

Police hold concerns for Ashleigh’s welfare, as she has not made contact with relatives.

Ashleigh is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170-175cm tall, with a medium build, long blonde hair, brown eyes and freckles.
