Officer charged – Northern Region

A police officer from the Northern Region has been charged following an investigation into alleged intimidation offences against colleagues.
Today (Sunday 3 January 2016), the 41-year-old sergeant, attached to a Local Area Command in the Northern Region, was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice for two counts of intimidation.

The alleged offences relate to two separate incidents which occurred at a police station in the Northern Region in 2014 and 2013.

The officer is currently on leave.

He is due to appear at Newcastle Local Court on 18 February 2016.

Police investigate stabbing – Goulburn

Police are investigating the stabbing of a man in Goulburn.

About 8.50pm yesterday (Saturday 2 January 2015), police were called to outside a home on Mary Street, Goulburn, after reports of a stabbing.

Police from The Hume Local Area Command attended and found a 19-year-old man with a puncture wound to his abdomen.

He was taken to Goulburn Hospital for treatment, where he is understood to be in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and police are speaking to witnesses.
