DELTA GOODREM TO PERFORM WITH ANDREA BOCELLI

Australian singer songwriter Delta Goodrem will join the world’s most beloved tenor Andrea Bocelli, on stage as a special guest during Bocelli’s tour of Australia and New Zealand this September.

For the first time in her home country of Australia, and following a number of hugely successful performances in the USA, Singapore and Canada with Bocelli in 2009 & 2010, Goodrem has graciously accepted the legendary tenor’s invitation to perform with him on stage during his concerts in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth this year.

Maestro Bocelli said “For years I have admired Delta’s work. Delta is such a gifted musician, she has a beautiful, rich and naturally agile voice, and is the perfect choice of artist to join me on stage to sing with me in her home country.”

“I am deeply honoured to be invited to join Maestro Bocelli for his upcoming shows in New Zealand and Australia. Andrea Bocelli is truly one of the most iconic performers of the modern world, his voice is sublime and it is a blessing to be re-joining the Maestro on stage soon for the concerts at home.” Said Delta Goodrem

Led by internationally renowned opera conductor Eugen Kohn, and accompanied by the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, the legendary tenor will also be accompanied by 60 piece local choirs including The Auckland Choral, The Brisbane Chorale, The Sydney Philharmonia Choir, the Ashton Smith Singers (Melbourne), the Elder Conservatorium Chorale (Adelaide) and the West Australian Symphony Chorale. Cuban Soprano Maria Aleida will also perform alongside Maestro Bocelli for the operatic duets of the evening.

The concerts will each be a two-part performance, featuring a selection of classical opera arias and songs, as well as hits from Andrea Bocelli’s latest album “Passione“- a collection of the world’s most beautiful love songs.

With one of the most recognisable voices in modern music, Andrea Bocelli is a global icon who has forged a career spanning almost 20 years, selling a staggering 80 million records worldwide. Bocelli  last toured in Australia in 2008, performing sell-out arena concerts to an audience of over 65,000.

KC COWGIRL MAY HAVE DROPPED CATCHIEST SUMMERTIME SINGLE THIS YEAR

Small town country girl Casi Joy is on fire (much like her hair) with her brand new summertime single “Old Town Lane.” The song features Casi’s imagery filled writing style, along with her smooth, yet powerful vocals. The single, from the singer/songwriter’s upcoming album, is receiving great reviews in the short two weeks it has been available in all online stores.

“Casi’s voice just blew me away.” – Michael Wagener, (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue)Wireworld Studios

“When I first laid eyes on her and heard this amazing crossover sound, I was blown away. From her crowd pleasing stage performances to her powerful, yet beautiful vocals, this is no small town girl. She is on her way to the likenesses of Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift.”
– Duane Woods, Strictly Music Booking and Management Group Inc.
Casi (pronounced Cassie) has been the best kept secret of the midwest for quite some time now. Beginning her music career at age 10, she has produced an album with award winning producer Michael Wagener, performed in front of 500,000 people at the Kansas City Plaza Lighting, just recently played with Rascal Flatts and Brad Paisley, and more. Casi is known for her bright red hair, bright personality, and explosive stage show playing a different instrument almost every song. Her heartfelt lyrics and distinctive, rich tone pull every listener in to her relatable, self written songs. Casi’s new single “Old Town Lane” was written by Casi about a sanctuary of hers at a lake in northern Minnesota. Country music lovers are sent to a feel good place, taking their minds off the world for three minutes and thirty seconds (or more, once you put it on repeat). The summertime single will get your foot tapping, and you’ll be singing the hook for days. It is available now on iTunes and for radio play worldwide. For more information on Casi Joy (videos, downloads, tour schedule, etc.), visit her website at www.casijoy.com.

Wagga Art Gallery Four Exhibitions: Heath Franco | Hide and Seek | Con/sequence | Art to Crow About

On Friday 15 August, we would be delighted if you are able to join us as we celebrate the launch of four new exhibitions at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, from 6pm to 8pm. In the Main Gallery, we will be unveiling Home Again: Heath Franco Works 2011-2014, and Con/sequence: Suites, multiples and narratives; in the Links Gallery, we welcome the return of Kurrajong Waratah’s Art to Crow About; and the Margaret Carnegie Gallery will be hosting Hide and Seek: Self-portraits from the Cunningham Dax Collection.

This exhilarating new suite of exhibitions spans many artforms and draws upon many sources. Con/sequence, drawn from the Gallery’s own Margaret Carnegie Print Collection, explores the many ways in which artists have explored the unfolding of time and space, through the medium of printmaking.

Home Again features Sydney-based new media artist Heath Franco’s psychological portraits of suburban life – at once compelling, disturbing and often hilarious. Using a mish-mash of readily found materials to create props and costumes, these exaggerated characters (all played by Franco himself) and the bizarre worlds they inhabit are oddly familiar.

In Hide and Seek we come face to face with the most potent yet enigmatic form of self-expression: the self-portrait. The four dozen self-portraits brought together for this exhibition traverse the allusive and fluctuating territory of self-perception, and are brought to Wagga Wagga by the Melbourne-based Cunningham Dax Collection of work by artists with psychological trauma.

And the ever popular Art to Crow About returns to the Gallery in 2014 with the wide range of artists and themes we’ve come to know and love, with paintings, prints, sculpture and more, all showcasing the talent and creativity of our local Riverina artists.

We’re delighted that the launch of this wonderful show will once again be celebrated with a performance by the talented Twilight Dance Troupe; and we look forward to seeing you once again, on Friday 15 August, for the launch of all four of these exciting new exhibitions.
