OMCG member charged with impersonating a government inspector – Tamworth

Police have charged a member of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) with allegedly impersonating an inspector from the NSW Office of Liquor and Gaming.

Officers from Oxley Local Area Command were told that on the evening of Friday 8 July 2016, a man allegedly claiming to be an inspector from the Office of Liquor and Gaming attended a hotel in South Tamworth.

It will be alleged the man requested to view hotel documentation and made a number of comments about signage and patrons.

Police commenced an investigation and arrested a 28-year-old man at Tamworth Police Station yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 17 August 2016).

The man, who is a member of the Finks OMCG, was charged with impersonating an inspector and has been granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court Monday 12 September 2016.

Man charged with attempted murder – Tamworth

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Tamworth yesterday.

Police will allege that shortly after 5pm (Wednesday 17 August 2016), a 32-year-old man attended a home on Glen Street and spoke with a 38-year-old man.

An altercation allegedly took place between the men before they both ran into Sue Crescent.

The 32-year-old man allegedly produced two knives and stabbed the older man in the chest several times.

The 38-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Tamworth Base Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police from Oxley Local Area Command were alerted to the incident and located the 32-year-old man in Cossa Street where he was arrested.

He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with attempted murder and assault police.

The man was refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court today (Thursday 18 August 2016).
