{"id":927,"date":"2014-02-04T05:07:09","date_gmt":"2014-02-03T18:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/?p=927"},"modified":"2014-02-04T05:07:09","modified_gmt":"2014-02-03T18:07:09","slug":"review-enders-game-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2014\/02\/04\/review-enders-game-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Review: Enders Game (2013)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, call me a Disney-film watcher but I liked <em>Enders Game<\/em>!\u00a0No its not made by Disney but I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/endersgame.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-928\" alt=\"endersgame\" src=\"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/endersgame-300x168.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a>was warned beforehand it was something of a kids movie with disneyesque qualities; I could not disagree more.<\/p>\n<p>This was a very interesting Science Fiction film and yes it did have a cast of mainly teenagers, but their performances were more than acceptable. It also starred Harrison Ford as a grey-haired-Major-Payne mentor and father-figure to the young trainees.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect this film was made on the heels of <em>After Earth<\/em> with the casting designed to draw both an adult and teenage audience which sort of makes sense as we have been plagued with kids movies like <em>Shrek<\/em> designed for grommets and their parents for years.<\/p>\n<p>Despite an illusion that it might be a kids movie, <em>Enders Game<\/em> asks very adult questions and has some very suspenseful twists and turns.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, call me a Disney-film watcher but I liked Enders Game!\u00a0No its not made by Disney but I was warned beforehand it was something of a kids movie with disneyesque qualities; I could not disagree more.
