{"id":710,"date":"2013-12-17T14:54:51","date_gmt":"2013-12-17T03:54:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/?p=710"},"modified":"2013-12-17T14:54:51","modified_gmt":"2013-12-17T03:54:51","slug":"review-dogma-2-the-idiots-1998","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2013\/12\/17\/review-dogma-2-the-idiots-1998\/","title":{"rendered":"Review: Dogma 2: The Idiots (1998)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have seen very few of the Dogma films that came out in the nineties that I particularly<a href=\"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/The-Idiots-1998-010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-711\" alt=\"The Idiots (1998)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/The-Idiots-1998-010-300x180.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a> enjoyed, indeed I found the whole &#8220;phenomenon&#8221; of Dogma the height of pretentiousness.\u00a0Now of course I have to eat my words after laughing my way through<em> The Idiots<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>Despite being completely politically incorrect (but no more so than <em>Borat<\/em> or<em> Bruno<\/em>) this film is very, very funny. It follows a group of malcontents who enjoy freaking out local small town residents by going on field trips and &#8220;spassing&#8221; or imitating developmentally-impaired people. Much mayhem ensues with people going out of their way to pretend they are not perturbed by the antics and show how understanding and sympathetic they are!<\/p>\n<p>NB: I warn anyone thinking of watching the film that there is some hardcore sex (its danish..I mean hardcore!) and full frontal nudity in the film, but this is quite relevant and very funny in context.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have seen very few of the Dogma films that came out in the nineties that I particularly enjoyed, indeed I found the whole &#8220;phenomenon&#8221; of Dogma the height of pretentiousness.\u00a0Now of course I have to eat my words after laughing my way through The Idiots!
