{"id":4804,"date":"2025-05-11T22:20:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-11T22:20:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/?p=4804"},"modified":"2025-05-11T22:20:14","modified_gmt":"2025-05-11T22:20:14","slug":"russell-morris-announces-sold-out-shows-on-the-farewell-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2025\/05\/11\/russell-morris-announces-sold-out-shows-on-the-farewell-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"RUSSELL MORRIS ANNOUNCES SOLD OUT SHOWS ON THE FAREWELL TOUR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russell Morris&#8217; The Farewell Tour ticket sales have been extremely strong since he announced his last tour with previously announced shows in Melbourne, Newcastle, Twin Towns, Thirroul and Brisbane all selling out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 2nd show at Melbourne&#8217;s Hamer Hall (28 August) has also sold out and we&#8217;re hoping to announce a new show soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to demand new shows have been added at Bendigo&#8217;s Ulumbarra Theatre (31 July), Geelong&#8217;s Costa Hall (2 August), Twin Towns Services Club (23 August matinee), Canberra Theatre Centre on Thursday, 21 August and Anita&#8217;s Theatre (6 September matinee)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After 58 hectic years of touring, this will be Russell&#8217;s last major circuit around the country and with only limited tickets available for all previously announced shows, they are all expected to be sold out long before the tour commences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Farewell Tour will feature Russell&#8217;s various incarnations &#8211; from Hush, Sweet Sweet Love and Wings of An Eagle, through to the acclaimed blues trilogy that began with the landmark, record-breaking, platinum selling #1 ARIA Chart Album Sharkmouth in 2012, which became his most successful album and winning the 2013 ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russell recently released a new single, End of the Beginning &#8211; a deeply emotional track serving as a farewell to his fans, marking a significant moment in his storied career and reflecting on the memories, experiences, and connections he has built with his audience over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After being asked for close to 50 years about which of his songs (his children!) are his favourites, Russell has put together a Spotify playlist of all his choices from across his illustrious career which can be streamed from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photos and full bio information can be downloaded from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t miss the chance to see this legendary Australian musician one last time as he takes the stage accompanied by a 13 piece all-star band, including a stunning string quartet, at the nation&#8217;s most prestigious venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Venue and ticket agency database pre-sales for the kick off at 10.00am (local times) on Monday, 2 May for the Ulumbarra Theatre show and at 9.00am (local time) on Thursday, 22 May for the Canberra Theatre Centre show.
