Police have charged a man and a woman following an investigation into an alleged break and enter near Newcastle earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Between 22 July 2016 and 24 July 2016, a home on Seacourt Avenue, Dudley, was broken into and items of property were stolen.<\/p>\n
Officers from Lake Macquarie Target Action Group commenced an investigation.<\/p>\n
Inquiries led police to stop a vehicle, reported as stolen, on Speers Road, Speers Point, about 9.30am today (Wednesday 31 August 2016).<\/p>\n
Police spoke to the driver, an 18-year-old woman, before searching her and the car.<\/p>\n
During the search, police allegedly located and seized stolen property.<\/p>\n
She was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station where she was charged with good suspected stolen given to other not entitled (x3), furnish false information\/statement to Licensee (x3), and dishonestly obtain property by deception (x3).<\/p>\n
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Belmont Local Court on 28 September 2016.<\/p>\n
A short time later, police attended a home at Speers Point and arrested a 28-year-old man.<\/p>\n
During a search of the home, police allegedly located stolen property as well as methylamphetamine and cannabis.<\/p>\n
He was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with goods in custody (x2), goods suspected stolen given to other not entitled (x3), furnish false information\/statement to Licensee (x3), dishonestly obtain property by deception (x3), possess prohibited drug (x2), and larceny.<\/p>\n
The man was bail refused to appear at Toronto Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 1 September 2016).<\/p>\n
