<\/b>A man will face court today charged over the alleged indecent and sexual assault of a teenage girl.<\/p>\n
Detectives from the State Crime Command\u2019s Child Abuse Squad commenced an investigation in January following reports a 16-year-old girl had been assaulted.<\/p>\n
Following extensive inquiries, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Tamworth Police Station about 11am yesterday (Wednesday 22 June 2016).<\/p>\n
Police will allege the man indecently and sexually assaulted the girl while they were travelling in car between Tamworth and Wagga Wagga in October 2015.<\/p>\n
The West Tamworth man has been refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Thursday 23 June 2016).<\/p>\n
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.<\/p>\n
