A teenager has suffered critical head injuries after being struck by a car while crossing the road in Lambton overnight.<\/p>\n
About 1.30am (Saturday 18 June 2016), a 16-year-old boy was crossing at the intersection of Griffith Road and Acacia Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle travelling on Griffiths Road.<\/p>\n
The boy suffered critical head injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.<\/p>\n
The driver of the vehicle, who stopped and rendered assistance, was also taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.<\/p>\n
Officers from Newcastle City will continue their investigations and would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash.<\/p>\n
