A woman has died in hospital after she was hit by a car in South Cardiff this morning.<\/p>\n
About 12.40am (Saturday 23 April 2016), a 39-year-old man was driving a Mazda 3 sedan south along First Avenue.<\/p>\n
At the same time, a 44-year-old woman was crossing the same road when she was hit by the Mazda.<\/p>\n
The man stopped and attempted to assist the woman, before emergency services arrived.<\/p>\n
The woman was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to John Hunter Hospital where she has since died.<\/p>\n
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n
