Police have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries following an armed robbery in Newcastle at the weekend.<\/p>\n
About 12.30pm on Sunday 3 April 2016, a man entered a convenience store on Wharf Road, Newcastle.<\/p>\n
The man threatened a 23-year-old male worker and demanded money.<\/p>\n
A sum of cash was handed to the man and he left the store, running north towards Hunter Street.<\/p>\n
No one was injured.<\/p>\n
Police from Newcastle City Local Area Command were called and commenced an investigation.<\/p>\n
As part of their inquiries, detectives have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.<\/p>\n
The depicted man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his early to mid 50s, about 175-180cm tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, cream shorts and a panama hat.<\/p>\n
