A woman has been charged following an alleged armed robbery at a service station near Newcastle today.<\/p>\n
Between 11.30am and 12pm (Saturday 2 April 2016), a woman entered a service station on the corner of York Street and Anzac Parade, Teralba, armed with a knife and demanded money.<\/p>\n
The 55-year-old male employee complied and handed over a sum of cash.<\/p>\n
The woman fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Officers from Lake Macquarie were notified and attended the location.<\/p>\n
A short time later, a 42-year-old woman was arrested at a unit on Anzac Parade, Teralba.<\/p>\n
Police executed a search warrant at the unit and seized a number of items.<\/p>\n
The 42-year-old woman was taken to Belmont Police Station where she was charged with robbery whilst armed with an offence weapon.<\/p>\n
She was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 3 April 2016).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
