A man will face court today over the alleged shooting of a man in the state\u2019s Northern Tablelands.<\/p>\n
Yesterday morning (Wednesday 16 March 2016), a 23-year-old man attended Armidale Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s since been transferred to John Hunter Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.<\/p>\n
Officers attached to New England Local Area Command were alerted and launched an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n
After initial inquiries, police attended a home in Cookes Road, Armidale, about 4am.<\/p>\n
They established a crime scene at the home, which was examined by detectives and forensic specialists.<\/p>\n
Following further investigations, a 23-year-old man was arrested at Armidale Police Station about 7.30pm, and charged with fire firearm in a manner likely to injure person, and recklessly cause grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n
