A man has appeared in court today following a barricade incident at Albury this morning.<\/p>\n
About 12.50am (Tuesday 2 February 2016), police were called to a home on Oshea Street, Lavington, following reports the male resident, who was armed with a knife, was making threats.<\/p>\n
As police from Albury Local Area Command approached the home, the man and a female resident walked outside, before the man allegedly made threats toward officers and returned inside.<\/p>\n
The woman was not injured.<\/p>\n
A perimeter was established and local police were assisted by police negotiators.<\/p>\n
About 1.30am, the man was arrested after exiting the home.<\/p>\n
No one was injured.<\/p>\n
Following a search of the home, officers located and seized a knife, a machete and a cigarette lighter shaped like a firearm.<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old man was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with armed with intent and intimidation of police.<\/p>\n
He was refused bail and appeared at Albury Local Court today, where conditional bail was granted. The man is next due to appear in the same court on Tuesday 9 February 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
