{"id":3245,"date":"2015-12-26T15:42:08","date_gmt":"2015-12-26T04:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/?p=3245"},"modified":"2015-12-26T15:42:08","modified_gmt":"2015-12-26T04:42:08","slug":"pedestrian-dies-after-being-struck-freemans-waterhole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2015\/12\/26\/pedestrian-dies-after-being-struck-freemans-waterhole\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies after being struck &#8211; Freemans Waterhole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b>A man has died in hospital after being struck by two cars at Freemans Waterhole, in the Lake Macquarie area, yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>About 8.30pm (Thursday 24 December 2015), a 43-year-old man was struck by two vehicles \u2013 a Ford Falcon and a Kia Sorento \u2013 on the M1, near the Freemans Drive on-ramp.<\/p>\n<p>The man was treated by Ambulance Paramedics and taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he died today.<\/p>\n<p>Both drivers have been spoken to and underwent mandatory blood and urine testing.<\/p>\n<p>Police have spoken to a number of witnesses and will investigate the full circumstances surrounding the incident as they prepare a report for the Coroner.<\/p>\n<p>This fatality is the 6<sup>th<\/sup> since Operation Arrive Alive was launched for the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>As part of Operation Arrive Alive, double demerit points will apply for speeding, mobile phone use, seatbelt and helmet use.
