A critical incident investigation has been launched after the death of a man in Tamworth last night.<\/p>\n
Police were called to a home on Armidale Road, East Tamworth just after 8.30pm (Thursday 10 December 2015), following reports of a man in distress.<\/p>\n
On arrival, police attempted to speak to the man who was armed with a firearm; however the man sustained a gunshot wound and died at the scene.<\/p>\n
No police firearms were discharged and no one else was injured.<\/p>\n
A critical incident team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n
All information will be provided to the Coroner.<\/p>\n
