<\/b>Police are investigating an aggravated break in at a home in Armidale this morning.<\/p>\n
About 4am (Thursday 1 October 2015), a 78-year-old woman was in her Allingham Street home when she answered a knock at the door.<\/p>\n
Police have been told two men armed with a spade and tyre lever pushed past the woman and forced their way in to the home.<\/p>\n
Once inside, one of the men approached and threatened the woman\u2019s 80-year-old male partner, while the other demanded money from the woman.<\/p>\n
The men took jewellery and cash before leaving the scene.<\/p>\n
Officers attached to New England Local Area Command were called and a crime scene was established.<\/p>\n
Police would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.<\/p>\n
The first man is described as 175-180cm tall, of medium build, wearing dark clothing with his face covered.<\/p>\n
The second man is described as 175-180cm tall, of thin build, wearing dark clothing with his face covered.<\/p>\n
