<\/b>Police are investigating an armed robbery of a liquor store in Armidale last night.<\/p>\n
Just after 7.30pm (Wednesday 23 September 2015), a 30-year-old man was working at a liquor store on Queen Elizabeth Drive when a man armed with a machete and a second man armed with a knife, entered the store.<\/p>\n
Police have been told the man armed with the machete approached a counter before demanding money.<\/p>\n
He stole cash from the till, when a second man, armed with a knife, took lighters from the same counter.<\/p>\n
The armed pair fled the scene in possession of a sum of cash. The employee was uninjured and contacted police.<\/p>\n
Officers attached to New England Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.<\/p>\n
Investigators are currently examining CCTV and wish to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.<\/p>\n
The first man is described as being of Aborignal\/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged 20 \u2013 25-years-old, wearing a grey hooded jumper, and a red coloured bandanna covering part of his face.<\/p>\n
The second man is believed to have been dressed in black and wearing a black balaclava.<\/p>\n
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward and contact Armidale Police on 6771 0699 or Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
