<\/b>Police are appealing for assistance after children were approached in the front yard of their home in Blackalls Park yesterday.<\/p>\n
About 6.25pm (Thursday 17 September 2015), a five-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl were playing in the front yard of their home on Rupert Street, Blackalls Park, when a man in a white four wheel drive drove up onto the footpath right out front of the house.<\/p>\n
The man got out of the car and approached the front fence of the property before speaking to the children in what the children allege was a suspicious and intimidating manner.<\/p>\n
The children ran inside and informed their father. The man got back in his vehicle and drove from the scene.<\/p>\n
Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were notified about the incident and are conducting inquiries.<\/p>\n
Police are urging the man in the white four wheel drive to come forward and speak to them.<\/p>\n
The man has been described as Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, with short dark hair and a facial beard. He was wearing a black shirt with grey shorts or pants.<\/p>\n
