{"id":2577,"date":"2015-07-28T12:17:59","date_gmt":"2015-07-28T02:17:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/?p=2577"},"modified":"2015-07-28T12:17:59","modified_gmt":"2015-07-28T02:17:59","slug":"five-teenagers-arrested-after-alleged-robbery-pursuit-lake-macquarie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2015\/07\/28\/five-teenagers-arrested-after-alleged-robbery-pursuit-lake-macquarie\/","title":{"rendered":"Five teenagers arrested after alleged robbery, pursuit &#8211; Lake Macquarie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><\/b>Police have arrested five teenagers after an alleged restaurant robbery and vehicle pursuit in the Lake Macquarie area.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after 1am today (Tuesday 28 July 2015), police responded to reports of a break-in at a restaurant in a shopping centre on Ntaba Road, Jewells.<\/p>\n<p>As officers arrived, they saw a green Holden Commodore station wagon speeding away from the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Police initiated a pursuit, which travelled from Jewells towards the Pacific Highway, then north along the Newcastle Inner City Bypass.<\/p>\n<p>The pursuit ended when the car crashed at the intersection of Look Out Road and Jacaranda Avenue in New Lambton Heights.<\/p>\n<p>The driver and front-seat passenger \u2013 boys aged 15 and 14 respectively \u2013 allegedly ran from the vehicle. Police chased the pair, and arrested them in bushland a short time later.<\/p>\n<p>Another three male teenagers \u2013 aged 14, 15 and 17 \u2013 were arrested at the crash site.<\/p>\n<p>None of the boys was injured<\/p>\n<p>All five were taken to Charlestown Police Station, where the driver has been charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner;<\/li>\n<li>Aggravated break and enter with intent in company;<\/li>\n<li>Never licensed person drive vehicle on road; and<\/li>\n<li>Police pursuit \u2013 not stop \u2013 drive dangerously (Skye\u2019s Law).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The other four teenagers are continuing to assist police with their inquiries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police have arrested five teenagers after an alleged restaurant robbery and vehicle pursuit in the Lake Macquarie area.
