WANGARATTA District Specialist School (WDSS) students Nathan Campbell and James \u2018Jimmy\u2019 Elkan represented Victoria at the 25th Kanga Cup, staged in Canberra during the school holidays, with the pair playing key roles in the soccer team.<\/p>\n
Competing in the Athlete with Disability division, the Victorian team reached the grand final, only to be defeated by a more physical New South Wales team 4-2.<\/p>\n
Both players enjoyed the competition immensely and were thrilled to be able to show their talents on the big stage, with Campbell making several stunning saves as goal keeper and Elkan scoring Victoria\u2019s second goal in the final.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a lot of fun, and it was good to be able to show my skills,\u201d Campbell said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNew South Wales was a very strong team and they gave us a run for our money, but it was a great game.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI scored two goals for the tournament and Jack (McNeilly) made a video of one,\u201d Elkan said.<\/p>\n
