<\/b>Police are investigating after a taxi driver was robbed by an armed man in Albury last night.<\/p>\n
About 8.30pm (Wednesday 1 July 2015), the 62-year-old taxi driver picked up a man on Borella Road, who directed the driver to take him to Lavington, via Eastern Circuit.<\/p>\n
On arrival at Eastern Circuit, police have been told the passenger threatened the driver with a knife, demanding cash.<\/p>\n
The driver declined and attempted to continue to drive, before a struggle ensued between the pair, and the armed man fled from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The taxi driver contacted police and was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to hospital suffering shock.<\/p>\n
Officers attached to Albury Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.<\/p>\n
As they continue their inquiries, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them.<\/p>\n
He is described and being of Caucasian appearance, about 18-years-old, of slim build, about 175-180cm tall, and was wearing a red hooded jumper, a dark cap, and black jeans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
