<\/b>Firearms Squad detectives have arrested a man over the alleged theft of guns while impersonating a police officer in the State\u2019s Hunter region last year.<\/p>\n
About 8.30am on Wednesday 29 October 2014, a property owner at Clarence Town was approached by two men at his home who purported to be plain clothes police officers.<\/p>\n
Detectives were told two revolvers were stolen from the premises, with those firearms recovered during a search warrant at Mayfield East the following day.<\/p>\n
Two men, aged 28 and 29, remain before the court on related charges.<\/p>\n
Yesterday morning (Tuesday 16 June 2015), Firearms Squad detectives arrested a 32-year-old man at Newcastle Police Station.<\/p>\n
He was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent, acquire firearm without permit, impersonate police officer and exercise powers\/functions, and supply prohibited firearm to unauthorised person.<\/p>\n
