A man found slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in a Speers Point car park overnight, has now been charged with drug offences.<\/p>\n
Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were called to Speers Point Park about 10.15pm yesterday (Thursday 4 June 2015), after concerns for the welfare of the man.<\/p>\n
When police spoke with the man, they allege an \u2018Ice\u2019 pipe was seen on the passenger\u2019s seat. This was seized along with pills and a bag police will allege contained methamphetamine (Ice) as well as cannabis.<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply a prohibited drug, and three counts of possess a prohibited drug.<\/p>\n
He was refused bail and will appear in Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 5 June 2015).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
