Police from the New England Local Area Command have raided a home in Armidale, arresting a man and seizing electronic goods, alleged to have been stolen during a recent spate of burglaries.<\/p>\n
Around 8am today (Thursday 5 March), detectives, uniformed police and officers attached to the command\u2019s Target Action Group executed a search warrant on a home in Butler Street.<\/p>\n
They allegedly located around two dozen items including laptop computers, mobile phones and electronic tablets.<\/p>\n
A 32-year-old Kempsey man was arrested at the scene.<\/p>\n
He was taken to the Armidale Police Station where he is assisting detectives with their inquiries.<\/p>\n
His arrest is the latest in a police crackdown on burglary offences in the New England district.<\/p>\n
New England Local Area Command Crime Manager, Ann Joy, is urging anyone with information about break-ins to contact police through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.<\/p>\n
\u201cResidents can help immensely by securing their homes and reporting any suspicious activity to us,\u201d Detective Inspector Joy said.<\/p>\n
