{"id":1778,"date":"2015-03-02T16:00:12","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T05:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/?p=1778"},"modified":"2015-03-02T16:00:12","modified_gmt":"2015-03-02T05:00:12","slug":"wheels-start-to-turn-on-upgrades-at-state-motorcycle-sports-complex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2015\/03\/02\/wheels-start-to-turn-on-upgrades-at-state-motorcycle-sports-complex\/","title":{"rendered":"WHEELS START TO TURN ON UPGRADES AT STATE MOTORCYCLE SPORTS COMPLEX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CONSIDERABLE progress has been made at Motorcycling Victoria\u2019s State Motorcycle <a href=\"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Broadford.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1779\" src=\"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Broadford-300x190.jpg\" alt=\"Broadford\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a>Sports Complex at Broadford since the Victorian Government announced a $550,000 grant last October.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MV\u2019s CEO, Mr Wayne Holdsworth, has since set-up a specially-dedicated Project Control Group that will oversee the upgrades which includes representatives of Sport &amp; Recreation Victoria, the Mitchell Shire Council and Motorcycling Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrades will include improvements to the entrance of the facility, a new car park, a new administration office and community centre building, improved toilet facilities, as well as a new unique viewing area of the motocross track above the pits shed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe selection of a project management company is in the final stages and that group will work closely with all key stakeholders to drive the project through to completion,\u201d Mr Holdsworth said.<\/p>\n<p>MV staff from Melbourne have already started to relocate to Broadford, including Ms Peta Thomas, MV\u2019s Committees &amp; Inclusion Manager, from the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Staff structural changes at Broadford, to help manage the upgrades, have also occurred.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell Shire Mayor, Councillor Rodney Parker said the Council is very pleased to be working closely with Motorcycling Victoria to see their vision become a reality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always felt that the State Motorcycle Sports Complex was an under-utilised asset, and it will be great to see the stimulation to our local economy.
