A man is due to face court after allegedly being detected in possession of the drugs \u2018ice\u2019 and cannabis aboard a train in Newcastle.<\/p>\n
About 2pm yesterday (Thursday 8 January, 2015), Police Transport Command officers, assisted by the Dog Unit, were conducting an operation at Broadmeadow Railway Station<\/p>\n
Officers boarded a train, which was travelling between Central and Grafton, and spoke with a 47-year-old man on board.<\/p>\n
A subsequent search found the man to allegedly be in possession of 21 resealable bags containing methylamphetamine, or ice, and four further bags containing cannabis.<\/p>\n
He was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug \u2013 indictable quantity, and possession of a prohibited drug.<\/p>\n
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 9 January 2015).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
