{"id":1319,"date":"2014-09-30T06:24:47","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T20:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.australianbroadcastingmedia.com.au\/publishing\/?p=1319"},"modified":"2014-09-30T06:24:47","modified_gmt":"2014-09-29T20:24:47","slug":"jimmy-barnes-cancels-appearance-at-deni-ute-muster-on-doctors-orders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.onradio.com.au\/index.php\/2014\/09\/30\/jimmy-barnes-cancels-appearance-at-deni-ute-muster-on-doctors-orders\/","title":{"rendered":"Jimmy Barnes cancels appearance at Deni Ute Muster on doctor\u2019s orders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is with much regret that <strong>Jimmy Barnes<\/strong> has had to cancel his appearance at the <strong>Deni Ute Muster<\/strong> on Saturday, 4 October due to ongoing health problems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jimmy Barnes<\/strong> has been in hospital for the past few weeks after suffering further complications and setbacks as a result of elective back surgery.\u00a0 Despite all hope and assurances given that he would be well enough to appear, it is now clear that this will not be the case and his doctors have ordered complete bed rest and organisers wish him a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy said today <em>\u201cI\u2019m so sorry, Musterers.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been hoping and doing everything I can to get myself well enough to join you next weekend but it\u2019s taking longer to bounce back than we thought and I\u2019ve had to pull out under doc\u2019s orders.\u00a0 The Deni Ute Muster is one of the great Australian events and to miss out on their 16<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary is heartbreaking for us all.\u00a0 Sending special thanks to our friend for stepping in for us at such short notice \u2013 Thanks Kasey!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Having just announced a national tour starting in November, and released her 10<sup>th<\/sup> studio album, <strong><em>Bittersweet<\/em><\/strong>, Australia&#8217;s much loved and Award winning Queen of Country, <strong>Kasey Chambers<\/strong>, is returning to the Muster stage and we couldn\u2019t be happier.\u00a0 Kasey said today \u201c<em>Sorry that Jimmy can&#8217;t make the Deni Ute Muster due to doctor\u2019s orders but I&#8217;m happy to be stepping in to fill those mighty shoes on Saturday night&#8230; I&#8217;ve always loved playing at Deni and can&#8217;t wait to get that chance again this weekend. Will have to brush up on my Barnsey songs tho &#8230;. eek!! Get well Jimmy!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Deni Ute Muster<\/strong> is an iconic \u201cbucket list\u201d event for all Australians and with less than a week to go, there\u2019ll be plenty of men, women and kids, and their utes, descending on Deniliquin for the 2014 instalment of the \u201c<strong>Muster\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>With only 5 days left until the Deni Ute Muster kicks off its 16<sup>th<\/sup> birthday celebrations, the set-up is well and truly underway with <strong>Mack the Transporter<\/strong> and <strong>Lightning McQueen<\/strong> &#8211; two of the stars of the incredibly popular Disney-Pixar animated films Cars and Cars 2 &#8211; and the hugely anticipated, record-breaking, supercharged <strong>Holden GTS Maloo<\/strong> (declared as the <strong>WORLD\u2019s FASTEST UTE)<\/strong> already on their way to Deniliquin<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Also on its way is the 1,000 horsepower <strong>JCB GT<\/strong>, a unique \u2018one-off\u2019 machine powered by a supercharged Chevrolet V8 big block engine and equipped with a belt driven supercharger and pair of four barrelled Holley carbs.\u00a0 The JCB GT will be operated by \u201c<strong>The Dig<\/strong>\u201d, the nickname given to JCB Demonstrator Matt Lucas who has travelled with the GT from the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>JCB GT<\/strong> will be joined in the Arena by the <strong>JCB Dancing Diggers<\/strong>, whose stunning acrobatics have become a YouTube hit.<\/p>\n<p>These exciting drawcards are only part of the popular attractions on tap at the <strong>2014 Deni Ute Muster.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the two days fans will be treated to the Bull Ride Spectacular, The Australian National Circle Work Championships, Yarn Bombing a Ute, the Ute Museum, Holden Grunt Off, Holden Barrel Race, Show \u2018n\u2019 Shine, Carnivale Corner, the World Record Blue Singlet challenge, helicopter rides, the mechanical bucking bull, woodchop demonstrations and Whip Cracking Championships and many more attractions setting the scene for what will undoubtedly be one hell of a Muster!!<\/p>\n<p>Muster MC\u2019s, <strong>The Sunny Cowgirls<\/strong> will also take to the main stage on Saturday afternoon for their own performance that will certainly be one to watch.\u00a0 We also welcome back AFL Legend <strong>Billy Brownless<\/strong>, five time Olympic Medallist <strong>Melanie Schlanger<\/strong> and Olympic Swimmer <strong>Chris Wright<\/strong> as official <strong>Deni Ute Muster<\/strong> ambassadors at this year\u2019s festival.<\/p>\n<p>The 2014 <strong>Deni Ute Muster<\/strong> is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, <strong>Destination NSW<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is with much regret that Jimmy Barnes has had to cancel his appearance at the Deni Ute Muster on Saturday, 4 October due to ongoing health problems.
