After the great success of the Culcairn Centenary Show
\nin 2013 we are backing it up with another great addition –
\nthe inaugural Culcairn Show Shearing and Wool
\nHandling Competition. It will be a great fun family event
\nshowcasing the talent of our vibrant wool industry.
\nThrough the generosity of many local businesses we
\nhave an impressive prize pool for competitors, with
\n$1000 cash for Open Shearing winner and $500 for the
\nwinner of the Novice Wool Handling. Also prizes given
\nfor the Best Local Shearer and the Philip Lieschke
\nAward sponsored by the Lieschke Family in memory of
\nthe late Philip Lieschke awarded to a young shearer
\nshowing promise.
\nShare a beer at the bar being run by the Culcairn Football
\nClub and hang around for the famous sheaf toss!
\nShearing starts at 10.00am (entries need to be in by
\n9.30am). Classes are: Novice Shearing, Intermediates,
\nOpen\/Senior Shearing, Novice Wool Handling.
\nCome and see how shearing used to be done, there will
\nalso be a fantastic Blade Shearing Demonstration.
\nWe are very excited to have Fred the Ram and his Ram
\ncompanions. Watch out for them and their very many
\ntalents.
\nOur 2015 calendar will be on sale soon, so keep your eye
\nout for it. Only $20.00 per fun filled calendar.
